"Providing you with deeper insights into WHY and HOW patients feel and behave"
Qualitative research
Qualitative research enables us to gain deeper insight into the lives, view and experiences of patients and how they live with and manage their illness. It can help for example, support experience based design (ebd), explore the patient's interactions with the service and how these influence their experiences or to better understand the beliefs, relationships and activities that can contribute to medication non-compliance.
It is also essential that content for patient reported outcome measures is generated from qualitative research using for example in-depth interviews or focus groups conducted by trained interviewers to determine the impact of illness.
DHP Research has extensive experience in conducting qualitative interviews as well expertise in the use of analytic models including thematic analysis, grounded theory and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).
We offer a range of qualitative techniques to explore in-depth the experiences, behaviours and attitudes of patients. These include:
- Focus groups
- In-depth interviews
- Discovery interviews
- Cognitive interviewing (Cognitive debriefing)
- Carousel Groups
- Observation
- Story Boards
